National Healthcare

So I am very ignorant of the National Health Care debate. However, I read a quote from this book today.

“Physicians for for a National Health Program, a group pushing for national health insurance, says paperwork and bureaucracy account for nearly one third  of every dollar we spend on health care – and that streamlining the system could save nearly $400 billion per year” (15)

My immediate concern with this is the possible loss of jobs by health insurance employees with a national health insurance. Could they have the opportunity to be re-employed by the government?

I am VERY curious about your thoughts on this.

What stories, statistics, and suggestions can you bring to the table?
